Our World Missions Statement

To assist in establishing and strengthening of mature, spirit-filled, local churches in every nation of the world.

To participate in the last days worldwide harvest of souls by releasing pastors, elders, evangelists, prophets, apostles and laborers into Christian ministry through establishing and strengthening of spirit-filled Bible Colleges and training centers in every nation of the world

To support God called and spirit-anointed fulltime missionaries as the Lord directs

To provide funds for needed special missions’ projects that will demonstrate the love and grace of Jesus through the ministry of the local church in the USA and worldwide.

To obey Christ’s command to “look on the fields” (John 4:35) through the sponsorship of short term missions trips for the youth, adults and leadership of Calvary Temple for the purpose of impacting lives with a vision and a burden for worldwide missions.

Home Missions

The Acts 1:8 principle directs us to be witnesses for Christ in our Jerusalem, which is Philadelphia and the metropolitan area. In addition to our own evangelistic outreach and ministry, it is our vision to facilitate the planting of effective local churches in the metro area. At present we support and partner with 10 home missions churches. Other ministries such as Teen Challenge, a residential ministry to those with drug and alcohol addiction, Valley Forge Christian and Zion Bible Colleges, and Philadelphia Access Center, a Christian resource center which provides a variety of services are part of our Home Missions support budget.

World Missions

The Acts 1:8 principle directs us to extend our witness even to "the ends of the earth." We accomplish this through partnering with other Assemblies of God (A/G) churches to send career missionaries worldwide, support national churches and train national leadership through Bible colleges and correspondence courses. Calvary Temple currently supports 28 career missionaries representing 25 nations. In addition, special projects of assistance like "Cry, Africa" -- the A/G AIDS/HIV initiative are funded through special offerings each year. The highlight of our worldwide missions ministry is our annual World Missions Conference held each November. Our vision and goal is to see every believer actively participating in the Great Commission through personal witness and regular missions giving. Calvary Temple's Youth and Children's Ministries play a strategic role in world missions through such ministries as Speed the Light and B.G.M.C.
